Dr. Andrea Georgiou, BSc, MSc, Ph.D. – Vice President
Dr. Andrea Georgiou brings extensive expertise to her role as Vice President of the Cyprus Neuroscience Society. With a strong academic foundation in Molecular Biology, Human Molecular Genetics, and Medical Genetics, Dr. Georgiou’s research at the intersection of genetics, epidemiology, and neuropsychiatric conditions perfectly aligns with CNS’s mission to advance neuroscience in Cyprus and beyond. As a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow and accomplished researcher investigating genetic and molecular therapeutic targets for addiction and various neurological disorders, she embodies the Society’s commitment to fostering innovative research and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Her demonstrated leadership in conducting wide-ranging epidemiological studies and genetic analyses of complex neuropsychiatric conditions positions her ideally to help guide CNS in its objectives of promoting neuroscience education, facilitating knowledge exchange, and establishing Cyprus as an emerging hub for neuroscience research in the region.
