Membership

To become a Member of the Society, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, endorse the Society’s objectives, and demonstrate research or professional interests in Neuroscience or related disciplines (including medicine, biology, psychology, and allied fields). Membership requires a one-time registration fee of 5 Euros and annual dues of 25 Euros thereafter.

There are 5 member categories:

  1. Regular Members are the founding members, as well as subsequent members who reside permanently or work in Cyprus (both Cypriots and foreigners), and at the time of their registration hold a degree or postgraduate title, or have research work related to Neuroscience or a similar field.
  2. Student members can be registered as Undergraduate or Postgraduate students (Cypriots or foreigners). The registration fee for students and the annual subscription is 50% of the registration fee or the annual subscription of Regular Members. Only students who have completed their undergraduate studies have the right to vote and be elected.
  3. Honorary members can be individuals with exceptional scientific achievements and people who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Neurosciences. The General Assembly can declare Honorary Members by simple majority, upon a relevant proposal from the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has the discretion to declare, during its term of office, individuals who have proven to contribute to the achievement of the Society’s objectives as Honorary Members. Honorary Members are not required to pay the registration fee or the annual subscription. They have the right to vote, but they do not have the right to be elected to the Board of Directors of the Society.
  4. Associate members are permanent residents of abroad (Cypriots or foreigners), who meet all the requirements for registration as Regular and/or Provisional Members regarding qualifications. They have the right to vote, but they do not have the right to be elected to the Board of Directors of the Society.
  5. Corporate members can be companies, organizations, societies, clubs, federations, groups, or other similar legally registered organizations that show interest in the activities of the C.N.S. Corporate members can attend the meetings of the C.N.S. with their representative. The registration fee for companies will be 100 euros per year, without the right to vote or to submit candidacy for the Board of Directors of the Society.

To register as a member, a written application form must be submitted to the Board of Directors, in which the new member declares acceptance of the fundamental principles and objectives of the Society. The Board of Directors will review the application and contact the applicant about the status of their application.
