Stylianos Valiantis, BSc, MSc – Treasurer

Mr. Stylianos Valiantis brings valuable interdisciplinary expertise to his role as Treasurer of the Cyprus Neuroscience Society (C.N.S.). With a strong foundation in psychology and neuroscience, and as a current Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Cyprus, Mr. Valiantis embodies the educational pipeline that C.N.S. aims to support. His doctoral research on neurobiophysiological markers of nicotine relapse vulnerability aligns perfectly with the Society’s mission to advance our understanding of neurological and psychiatric conditions. His experience investigating brain-behavior relationships and his work with both animal models and transgenic research techniques demonstrates the breadth of methodological approaches that C.N.S. seeks to promote within the neuroscience community. Mr. Valiantis’s research spanning anxiety, depression, and Alzheimer’s Disease contributes to the Society’s goal of fostering collaborative research that bridges fundamental neuroscience with clinical applications. His diverse training in both Greek and Cypriot institutions positions him to help strengthen local and regional neuroscience networks, supporting C.N.S.’s vision of establishing Cyprus as an emerging hub for innovative neuroscience research.
