Morfeas Koumas, BSc – Assistant Secretary

Morfeas Koumas serves as Assistant Secretary of the Cyprus Neuroscience Society (C.N.S.), bringing valuable expertise in neuropsychopharmacology and addiction research. Currently pursuing his MSc in Neuroscience for Drug Discovery at Aston University, Mr. Koumas combines his academic training with hands-on research experience investigating the neurobiological mechanisms of opioid addiction and withdrawal. His work examining the potential therapeutic applications of ketamine metabolites for treating opioid use disorders aligns perfectly with C.N.S.’s mission to advance neuroscience research with clinical relevance. Mr. Koumas’s specialized skills in ex vivo electrophysiology, behavioral pharmacology, and laboratory techniques represent the technical expertise that the Society aims to foster among emerging researchers. As a founding member of C.N.S. and with experience in scientific content creation, Mr. Koumas embodies the Society’s commitment to promoting neuroscience education and outreach.
